Insubordination In Our Time: A Refusal of the Existing Order

“Bullshit!” said Joe Biden responding to a speech by the president of the U. S. of A. who had just narrowly redefined appeasement. Bush is the dude, if memory serves me, the Supreme Court appointed to run the country for eight years after running Texas like a pig farm for too long.

If you think Joe was subversive you’d be off the mark by an inch or two. The president’s smarmy, smirky attitude begat an autovalorization structured on taurine ordure that we folk call bullshit. The under-25 populations the world over recognize in Bush’s attitude of fantasy comic book revenge theory backstory and historical tribal memory their own cultures, subjects to moan and rap about and sometimes to counter with a vest full of fatal surprise to set off in crowds. The president of the U.S. of A. has attitude big time and a belief that history as well will anoint him All-Time Hero of Planet Earth, a global warming belying his disbelief in the phenomenon.

For a time the attitude of art historians, curators and the art world establishment was snarly and smirky, too, in thrall to the Enlightenment. A few artists free from studio tics, whose facture was not generated from habit, responded with salons of refused art that served as appeals to art historians, critics, patrons, collectors and lay viewers for “a refusal of the existing order.”

Two giants of the 20th Century art world, Picasso and Duchamp, were neither absent from nor insubordinate to what the existing order handed down and petrified from the old order. They intuited connections of ideational dots for robots and machines built on an order that they understood made artists creatures of habit and slaves to reason. Perhaps the Turing Test applied to George Bush, a Harvard MBA and a failed combat pilot, as well as to artists as true believers, would affirm Descartes’ theories on whether or not a machine can think.

‘La insubordinación en nuestra época: un rechazo del orden existente’

¡Mierda! Dijo Joe Biden, respondiendo a un discurso del presidente de los E. U. de A., quien acababa de redefinir ajustadamente ‘contemporización’. Bush es el tipo a quien, si mi memoria no falla, la Suprema Corte designó para presidir el país por ocho años después de dirigir, por demasiado tiempo, a Texas como una granja de cerdos.

Si Ud. piensa que Joe era un subversivo, habrá errado por un centímetro o dos. La actitud aduladora y socarrona del presidente engendró una autovaloración estructurada en los desechos de taurina que nosotros, popularmente, llamamos ‘mierda’. Las poblaciones menores de veinticinco de todo el mundo, reconocen sus propias culturas en la memoria tribal histórica de Bush y en su actitud de venganza fantástica subyacente en la trama de una revista de comics, sujetos […. ] para provocar multitudes. El presidente de los E.U. de A. ha […] y la creencia de que también la historia lo designará como el Héroe planetario de todos los tiempos, un calentamiento global que oculta su descreimiento en el fenómeno.

Durante un tiempo, la actitud del sistema del arte, curadores e historiadores, fue también enredada y socarrona, esclava de la Ilustración. Unos pocos artistas, libres de tics de estudio, cuyas obras no eran generadas desde el hábito, respondieron con salones de arte basura que sirvieron como atractivo para historiadores del arte, críticos, mecenas, coleccionistas y espectadores laicos como “rechazo del orden existente”.

Dos gigantes del mundo del arte del siglo 20, Picasso y Duchamp, no estuvieron ni ausentes ni insuburdinados a lo que el orden existente heredó y petrificó del viejo orden. […] para máquinas y robots construidos sobre un orden que ellos entendían hacía de los artistas creaturas del hábito y esclavos de la razón. Tal vez, el Test de Turing aplicado a George Bush, un piloto de combate fracasado y máster de Harvard, tanto como a artistas y verdaderos creyentes, afirmaría las teorías de Descartes sobre si una máquina puede pensar, o no.
