WTF: if there’s ever an instance when this enriches a dialogue—let us know

ROTFL: one should really be more careful with one’s onomatopoeias

BRB: if indeed, wouldn’t you be back more quickly if you skipped the typing of those three characters and just got on with it?

W/E: apparently, this can refer to a time, a choice to abstain from choosing or a dismissive attitude [apparently, then, this can lead to not just confusion]

KTHXBAI: I knew someone once who signed off this way whenever we Skyped; it was one of those early signs I ignored, I’m sure of it now…

NE1: wow, now there’s a truly useful abbreviation of a potentially useful word—and a reminder that internet slang was around long before the present wave of tweens on twitter [and adorning the vanity plates of their great grandparents’ Mustangs and Chevrolets?]

LOL: ya, es llamativo y gregario, pero no lo suficientemente infeccioso

XOXO: ten cuidado con el amor y los besos reducidos a un automatismo tan poco esforzado

IMHO: si buscamos brevedad, por qué no deshacernos de esa mayúscula tan perfectamente superflua?

WTF: si hay alguna instancia cualquiera en la que esto enriquezca un diálogo, háganoslo saber

ROTFL: uno debería tener realmente más cuidado con sus onomatopeyas

BRB: desde luego, ¿no estarías de vuelta más rápidamente si te saltaras el teclear esos tres caracteres y te pusieras a ello?

W/E: aparentemente, esto puede referirse a un tiempo, una elección para abstenerse de elegir o una actitud desdeñosa [aparentemente, entonces, esto puede conducir a una no solamente confusión]

KTHXBAI: conocí a alguien que se despedía de este modo siempre que hablábamos por Skype; era uno de esos signos tempranos que yo ignoraba, ahora estoy segura de ello…

NE1: uau, aquí tenemos una abreviatura verdaderamente útil de una palabra potencialmente útil – y un recuerdo de que el argot de Internet ya andaba por aquí mucho antes de la actual ola de veinteañeros en twitter [y adornando las placas de matrícula de los Mustangs y Chevrolets de sus bisabuelos?]
