En esta sociedad del bienestar la austeridad materialista apenas existe, al menos, como ejercicio de solidaridad y conciencia. En el espacio humano-social vivimos una austeridad arrolladora. Concentrado en todo ese humo que envuelve a la austeridad, me encuentro al individuo despierto y consciente, aquel que según E.Fromm puede discernir entre Tener o Ser. Éste, muestra una conducta y una relación con lo material fluida, útil, activa; que le aporta independencia, creatividad y espontaneidad. La envidia es desagradecida en lo terrenal y fracasada en lo espiritual; debilita la relación del humano con sus fines vitales…la acumulación, la posesión, no están vinculadas únicamente a los objetos o cosas. Ya comienzo a entender la patología de practicar el Tener, de Facebook para recuperar “amigos”, de sistemas que facilitan que sumes y sumes. Casi todas se consiguen fácilmente porque son triviales, el caso es poder tenerlas, esbozando así quiénes somos (si es que somos). No es necesaria una gran habilidad para Tener, incluso es necesario Ser poca cosa para Tener muchas cosas.
